[re]BUILD showcased a very unique contest involving the Construction, Deconstruction, and Reconstruction of an urban landscape, turning pieces of concrete
and rubble into magnificent, painted, mosaic canvases.
8 artists competed inside a steel cage in 25 minute rounds painting on cinder blocks and
creating a spectacle of amazing artwork. All 8 artists then helped to sledgehammer the painted blocks into bits of rubble after which
the 4 finalists waded through the concrete to piece together their final works. The 3 hour event took center stage amidst DJs, live musicians,
an enormous dance floor, and a vast 3 room art gallery space.
